TRIBUNSORONG.COM, WAISAI- Sejalan dengan Geopark Raja Ampat ditetapkan UNESCO sebagai anggota UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) melalui Sidang Dewan Eksekutif Ke-216 UNESCO di Paris, Prancis, Rabu 24 Mei 2023 lalu. 

Kabupaten Raja Ampat memiliki 29 geosite pada Geopark Raja Ampat, sebagian besarnya adalah primadona bagi wisatawan domestik maupun mancanegara.

Semuanya memiliki warisan geologi dan keanekaragaman geologi yang bernilai tinggi. 

Geosite yang terdiri dari batu cadas, Sedimen laut dalam berumur Eosen-Miosen dan mahkluk hidup seperti Kelelawar serta Ubur-ubur, juga menjadi spot wisata yang menarik.

Dilansir dari rajaampatgeopark.com, ada 29 geosite yang tersebar dari Ayau sampai Misool Kabupaten Raja Ampat. Berikut adalah 29 geosite;

1. Eocene-Miocene deep sea sediments

Lokasi : Wilayah Kelurahan Sapordanco, Distrik Waisai Kota.

2. Batu Wajah of Waiwo

Lokasi : Wilayah Kampung Saonek,
Distrik Waigeo Selatan.

3. Waigeo Ultramafics

Lokasi : Pinggir jalan antara Kota Waisai dan Kampung Warsambin,
Distrik Teluk Mayalibit.

4. Waigeo Intrusives

Lokasi : Waigeo

5. Guy Cave

Lokasi : Mayalibit Bay (Waigeo)

6. Batu Kelamin of Waigeo

Lokasi : Mayalibit Bay (Waigeo)

7. Sea-stacks of Kabui Bay

Lokasi : Kabui Bay – South Waigeo

8. Wawiyai Cave

Semua potensi yang dimiliki oleh Kabupaten Raja Ampat ini, mempunyai harapan besar dan masuk 10 program prioritas pembangunan wisata oleh pemerintah pusat.
